When I first shared our goal of 50 geocaches a year, and our followers challenged us to do 100, I thought it would be a hard challenge. At the time we were still knee-deep in the snow, often taking slippery country roads and crawling through the forest to reach the treasure. Some days it was so cold that Joeri didn’t even get out of the car! But we had a deal, to be logged, the least he had to do was get out of the car haha.

Everything changed when the weather got just a tad gentler and we could make long curious hikes together with the dogs. We walk every day, so why not in an area where there is something to find, right? This way we explored many new trails and villages.

While most of the caches here were very simple micros, a good friend took us on a true treasure hunt in Belgium. The coolest, most fantastic series I’ve ever seen, full of great puzzles, often beautifully designed. I can’t show you all of them, no spoilers here, but it was worth every minute in that pouring rain. We were all soaked! But boy it was fun.

As we collected more and more caches, we also got a few ‘souvenirs’ and milestones:

We have now found geocaches in:
– Sweden
– Germany
– Belgium
– France

This one in France was fun. It was hidden under a stone and Joeri didn’t want to pick it up haha.

We hit our goal of 100 Geocaches on May 1st 2023, in Sweden.
So what’s next?

One thing that I’m looking forward to, is finding some caches on the islands in this area. And we plan on searching some more during road trips, but we’re taking a little break as it’s now baby animal season and I don’t want to disturb them.
