Dog SUP adventures
At first, Mogwai had no idea what we had planned. She quietly followed us to a kayak shop in our neighborhood and she was curiously looking at the kayaks that passed by on the river for a competition that was going on.
Inside the shop she was most interested in the lunch that was still waiting to be eaten (but not by her) while we felt like we arrived at outdoor/water-paradise between all these new and beautiful kayaks, paddles, SUP boards and other water sport equipment. I would have loved to test them all!
She sniffed the bag that we took home but after checking it she was clearly confused.
” I can’t eat it, I can’t sleep on it,… are they going to throw this in the lake for me perhaps?”
She watched us closely when slowly this object got his final shape: It’s a SUP, Mogwai! (A stand up paddle board)
We tried it before in the Netherlands together with some friends and we have nothing but wonderful memories. Now we live at a place that is surrounded by alluring lakes and mysterious islands, we are longing to explore the lakes from a different perspective. On the water you get a totally different experience. The soft movement of the water as well as the sounds of the paddle and the waves against the board are so peaceful and yet exciting. The fresh drops tingle on your skin and time seems to stretch.
Mogwai would have preferred some more stops to swim, but except from that she really loved it. And on this first trip it wasn’t just Mogwai and me. We also met a curious 9 year old girl that hopped on and showed me a secret dock where you can dive from. Yes, Swedish summers are something special!
Have you tried this before? With or without dogs?
And maybe have some tips for us?
