Daily dog drawings, week 5

Hi friends!
It’s been a busy week but I managed to get all 7 dog sketches in!
In Belgium, I love going to a real art store, testing ALL the colors, and taking my time to walk through the entire store twice. But here in Sweden, we don’t have any shops nearby—and by nearby, I mean the closest with a somewhat decent choice is 2.5 hours driving (so 5 hours in total or an expensive day trip by train). While I try to hold on to my wish list until I travel, we do have some great webshops, and having packages delivered is also exciting 🙂
This time I ordered a few pan-pastels, and a bunch of markers. I swatched all of them and made cards for color palettes.
Since I accidentally started a dog-drawing sketchbook with paper that doesn’t work well with pencils or watercolor, I have been using markers a lot. Tombow, Copic, and Ecoline brush markers are my favorites, but I’m also using kid’s markers that I got many years ago when my godchild was visiting.
The magic of markers is fairly new to me, but I’m eager to learn!
You can see in the scans below, that this sketchbook is actually the top part of a bigger sketchbook that I cut in 2. So if you’re thinking about drawing dogs too, any paper, any pencils or pens will do. For me, a cheap sketchbook works great to set me free from the pressure of making anything good/great when I practice.
Or even use this tutorial to make your own notebook.
So, I’ll leave you with all the happy dogs:
