Hello friends! I hope you’re all well and enjoying your summer.

Any dogs getting doggy ice cream?
We’re mostly cooling down by jumping in the lake- well, Oona and Mogwai do. It has never been hot enough for Lizzie to seek anything else but a short snooze in the shadow. She’s a great swimmer, but we only know from the few times she accidentally fell off the paddle board. I wonder if she would change her mind about water/swimming if we traveled to some place really hot like her home country Greece. For now, she even gives the side eye to any wet dog coming too close :-).

Recently, the arrival of a big mystery box from Gutsy made the dog tails wag- almost helicopter-style! This must smell good!
The dogs would quickly rip the box and steal all the goodies if it was up to them. But I had to take a picture! And while I was doing that, sneaky Oona carefully removed one bag of treats- as if I wouldn’t notice.

So what did they get?
– Dog biscuits in different flavors
– A bag of dog food to try (based on insects)
– A metal tin (I looove metal tins) with the new supplements.

I chose the “skin and coat” supplements for Mogwai to try because with all the swimming fun and her recent thyroid surgery, getting her coat some extra support might be helpful. They also have “probiotics” and “hip and joints“. All these supplements are tasty chews, which is nice for the dogs too. With some previous supplements, I’ve had my dogs throw them out of their bowl, and refuse to eat, that’s no fun.

* A bit about Gutsy.
Last year when we visited Belgium, I remember picking a bag of Gutsy food as extra treats for my dogs because I was super charmed with the design ( I am an artist after all). Gutsy is a rather new Belgian brand with a vision to create dog food that is healthier for both dogs and the planet- the reason for using insects as a protein base. The food is manufactured in Ghent (Belgium), and they currently ship within Belgium and to The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, and Germany.
While this brand isn’t currently available in Sweden, I’m super glad that we get the chance to try some new products, so thank you Gutsy! I’ll report back on how they are working for us 🙂

Something less dog-related, more photography/social media,… Instagram has a reputation for being annoying and frustrating, but I’ve always managed to just do my own thing despite what is trending or encouraged by the algorithm. This time however, they got me to say “f* it!”- and it’s not about followers, engagement, or annoying bots. No. In the app, they suddenly show a shadow on top of each image. I’ve put white rounded frames around my images for almost a decade, and it all looks horrible now.
I know it’s silly. It’s just something that I liked. Today I hesitated but I posted a photo without my beloved frame.
Luckily we still have dogs. And summer. And ice cream.

Until next time!
