Welcome to our winter wonderland!

When we drove south to Belgium in early November, the temperature was still above the average, and no snow was in sight. Our trip felt like a hint of time travel as in Belgium, autumn had just begun. You can probably imagine our surprise that this year, our first snow day (well, evening) was in Belgium! It might have been Sweden calling us back 🙂

And as much as I love Belgium, I am grateful to be back.
There is much that I miss, but simply waking up in silence (no cars constantly racing by), breathing fresh air, and walking out the door with the dogs,… priceless!

The lake in our backyard looks more or less frozen, but the big one in the village isn’t even close. It will take some more real winter nights before we’ll be able to hike across.  And mom, if you’re reading this, don’t worry, we keep a close eye on the measurements and advice of the villagers. Often, we wait until the ice is thick enough to land a plane so that all the holiday foods won’t be an issue 🙂

As winter settles in, Greek Goddess Lizzie won’t even consider stepping outside without her coat, as if she’s saying, “I didn’t choose to live on the North Pole!”
Mogwai, at 11 and a half, struts around in a cozy sweater that helps her stay warm. And Oona? She’s blissfully unaware that winter has arrived—prancing around like she’s in an eternal autumn. But don’t worry, her winter coat is ready for its debut, just as soon as she notices that frost is a thing.

Our gear:
– Lizzie’s cinnamon coat is the older version of the Hurtta Extreme warmer Eco (Mogwai and Oona have the new versions so I will share them soon!)
– Mo’s sweater is the Hurtta Warming Midlayer Eco Dog Jacket. It’s a bit thicker and stiffer than the Razzle-Dazzle Midlayer and has a heat-reflecting layer.
Hurtta treat bag.

If you’re interested in Hurtta gear, you can use our discount code “Lizzie2024” for 15% off until the end of the year- and feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Wishing you all a nice and cozy start to winter. Perhaps with some snow and hot chocolate too!

Take care
X
